All of our vehicles have Passenger Liability, road worthy certificates and permits. Insurance documents are available on request. .
The type of vehicle that we use have been carefully chosen. We currently use Toyota Pradoís and Landrover Defenders.
Finding a vehicle to use on the Sani Pass is no easy task. However after twenty or so years of experience driving the Sani Pass and eight different types of 4x4 vehicles, we have come to the calculated conclusion that the Toyota Prado, Toyota Landcruiser and the Landrover Defender come out tops. They have proven to be reliable safe and comfortable.( Although the Landrover rattles a bit). Until a new reliable passenger 4x4 vehicle comes onto the market.
We have also tried modified vehicles. The problem with modified vehicles is that they tend to fall apart quite rapidly due to the bending and twisting on the rough Sani Pass road. Also by modifying a vehicle they are usually required to carry a larger load than what they were designed for(overloaded).
Further to this experience has shown that our clients experience a more personal experience with the guide. In a larger vehicle the clients at the back of the vehicle canít hear the guide properly and the guide ends up having to shout which makes it uncomfortable for those in the front seats. Fitting microphones and speakers is not conducive to a true off-road 4x4 experience.
